Re-inventing the Taliban is an official selection at the Rome International Film Festival scheduled to be held in Rome this September.

Sharmeen Obaid was awarded the Overseas Press Club Award, "The Carl Spielvogel Award" for best international reporting in any medium showing a concern for the human condition for her film Terror's Children.

Every Monday at 8 p.m. Sharmeen Obaid hosts "World Wire" on the Discovery Times Channel. The show features U.S. premieres of documentaries focusing on international society, politics and culture.
