Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be speaking with George Stroumboulopoulos, the host of "The Hour" on CBC Newsworld, Monday June 20th 2005. The show airs at 8 p.m.
The discussion will focus on women's rights in Pakistan including the gang rape of Mukhtar Mai.

This month's Rivaaj Magazine profiles Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's work.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is the first non-American to be awarded the Livingston Award. At a ceremony in New York on June 14th, Ken Auletta of The New Yorker, Tom Brokaw of NBC News, and Ellen Goodman of The Boston Globe announced the winners.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was awarded the prize for international reporting for her documentary "Reinventing the Taliban".

The $10,000 prizes go to journalists under the age of 35 and are the largest all-media general-reporting awards in the country. The prizes are sponsored by the Mollie Parnis Livingston Foundation

Women of the Holy Kingdom has been selected by the Zanzibar International Film Festival and will be screened in the East African city this July.

The Livingston Award winners will be announced on June 14th at the Yale Club in New York. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, a finalist for the award this year, will be attending the ceremony.
